If you are someone who loves jewelry that pushed the fashion envelope while maintaining current trends then you need to check out IRIESOIRÉE by BRITTANY MICHELLE. I purchased a pair of the FLY ME studs last year and was shocked at the size. IRIESOIRÉE pieces are definitely eye catchers; not skimping on size and popping with color, this brand is definitely for the bold.
Now Brittany Michelle and I go back a few years; back to when we were tender high school sophomores in Sacramento, Ca. We hung out together, lived a few blocks away from each other and were even on the same dance team. We worked together on a promotion team one summer and even ventured off to launch our own business together.
For as long as I have known her she has always been a smart and determined person with a great spirit and energy. She brings that same spirit and energy into her line of jewelry.
This lovely lady was kind enough to do a Q & A with StacksAndStilettos.com about her new Spring 2012 collection "Self Love: The Fierce Fetish"
1. Who are you?
I am Brittany Michelle - Mommy, Twin, Designer, and Bohemian beauty! I was born in Germany, raised in Monterey Bay and now based out of Sacramento; and I am on a journey to find my truth while I unapologetically explore self love in its entirety.
2. What do you do? Are there any other things you do besides your primary talent/skill/trade?
I am the founder and designer of
IRIESOIREE accessories where I create unique pieces of jewelry. I am also a full time customer service representative at Pacific Gas and Electric Company and outside of all that I am a full time mommy. Yes, call me “Superwoman!”
3. How would you best describe your personal style?
My signature atheistic is big bold & flashy - but only when it comes to my accessories. I love my accessories to “pop” and I think that comes across very clear in my spring 12 collection “self love: the fierce fetish.” I have a very classic style. To me there is nothing classier than a blazer paired with a chiffon button up, skinny jeans, 6 inch stilettos and a colored lip! Owwww!
4. Where are you located? How can people access you?
I am based out of Sacramento. But fans, critics, haters, lovers & viewers can follow my journey and view my brand online at
www.iriesoiree.com. I can’t release all the information just yet, but my brand will be featured in some boutiques from coast to coast.
5. When did you start designing jewelry?
I’ve always had a passion for owning my own business, art and craftsmanship itself. So it took me a while to pin point what I wanted to do. I’ve tried everything, but I found my niche. I design. I create. I decided that I wanted to take on jewelry design back in 2007. It was just an idea then. I told myself I would take it seriously after looking at my jewelry collection and realizing I had altered each piece in some shape or form. So BAM! In 2010 I started working on my spring ‘11 collection and have been moving ever since.
6. Why do you do what you do?
My desire to avoid the ugly abyss of social expectations continues to both inspire and motivate my dedication to true self growth. I design to reject conformity. I design to inspire. Through my products I hope to inspire and vividly express self-love first. EVOLVE. DO NOT CONFORM.
7. What inspires you?
I draw inspiration from the world I live in - from movies, buildings/architecture, nature, to street signs. Everything – the way I see it.
8. Do you plan on expanding? If so, How?
Eventually, I would like to open my own boutique to give upcoming designers a chance to share their vision with the world. My brand is expanding on an everyday basis. The products are evolving in a way that I am so proud of. There’s A LOT more coming soon, so be sure to stay connected.
9. Do you have any events, features or shows coming up? If so, where and when?
Yes. There are plenty of things in the works right now. From boutique features, to fashion events – I can’t let all the juicy details go just yet but IRIESOIREE is coming to a boutique near you!
10. Why would someone be interested in reading about you? What can the reader gain from being exposed to you?
I hope to vividly express resisting conformity. I think a lot of young folks get stifled in today’s society because TV & music videos present an appealing fake façade that sucks us all in. Through my products I hope to show every individual across the world that it is OK to be yourself, it’s ok to evolve and grow into our greatest potential, and it’s OK to put self-love FIRST. If a reader isn’t interested evolving and self-love then they won’t be interested in my brand or my products and I’m ok with that.
IRIESOIREE = ONLY FOR THE ORIGINAL! EVOLVE. DO NOT CONFORM!
11. Where can the reader get in touch with you? (Myspace, Facebook, Twitter, Website?)
